  The Cost of Children 1994
The study was conducted in 1994. It was carried out using a qualitative approach based on FGDs with parents. A total of 8 FGDs were conducted with wives and husbands. The study also included interviews with around 4000 households and more than 4000 mothers. The main objectives of this study were to estimate how much parents spend on their children, and who provides the income for those expenses. This study was implemented by El-Zanaty & Associates staff through a purchase order.
 
  Audience Segmentation an Analysis of 1992 and 1995 EDHS
This analysis was conducted by the director of the firm for the use of IEC/SIS in 1994 for 1992 EDHS and in 1997 for the 1995 EDHS data. This analysis was used in designing the spots and messages on mass media. This analysis was conducted with Johns Hopkins University.
 
  Further analysis project of 1992 EDHS
Fatma El-Zanaty worked as the project coordinator for conducting an analysis of 1992 EDHS which included eight papers that were produced in one volume. The data processing staff working at El- Zanaty & Associates did most of the analysis needed for the researchers of these papers. A volume that included these studies was produced and distributed to the concerned persons.
 
  The Quality of Family Planning Services in Egypt 1992
The main objective of this study was to collect detailed information about the quality of family planning services from women’s perspective and to develop measurable indicators of the quality of such services. This pilot study conducted in 1992 included two types of data collection methodologies: qualitative and quantitative, and it was carried out in 18 communities in 11 governorates. In addition, 100 households in each of the communities were interviewed using the quantitative survey questionnaire. The target groups for this research project were chosen to be women at their reproductive age, and service providers (doctors, nurses, hakima, ect.). In this study Focus Group Discussions as well as In-Depth interviews conducted with clients and providers provided qualitative data for the study. The Director of El-Zanaty& Associates was the acting principle investigator of this survey.
 
  The Egypt Male Survey 1991.
The survey was conducted in 1991, and it utilized FGDs with husbands and wives on their attitudes towards family planning. The main objective of the 1991 Male Survey was to collect accurate information in Upper Egypt and Cairo related to male attitudes and behaviors with respect to Family Planning. The role of married men in taking the decision to adopt family planning was given special emphasis in this regard. The staff of the firm carried out the activities of the study.
 
  Implementation of Baseline and Impact Surveys for Support to Population Program in Upper Egypt 1997, 1999, 2000.
The main objective of these surveys was to measure the main indicators of population and maternal and child health before the project started and then measure the impact after two years. The main objective of the project was to improve the access to improved maternal and childcare and modern family planning methods services within the villages defined as “deprived”. Also to increase the overall distribution and choice of contraception in the governorates of Qena and Souhag, improve women's access to education and productive opportunities and to develop the necessary management capacity to implement the EU assistance program. This study was conducted in two governorates, (Qena and Souhag), using a quantitative method to obtain data. Three Baseline surveys and one impact survey were conducted. The surveys were implemented under the auspices of Helsinki University Knowledge Services Ltd. Helsinki, Finland.
 
  Geographical Impact of USAID Strategic Objective 16 Programs
The primary data sources used in this study included: (1) the 1992 and 2000 Demographic and Health Surveys; (2) the 1982 and 1990 agricultural censuses; and (3) locations of USAID-funded small micro-enterprise (SME) programs. For the purpose of the study the GPS waypoints determined in the data collection of the EDHS survey were used and presented on maps using the ArcView 3.2.
 
   Survey sample design
this workshop included a detailed description on how to select and design the sample as well as the quick count and listing of households for the selected PSUs. It also included a description on how to fill the questionnaire and how to analyze data and how to correct errors in PSUs, and it was under the auspices of the National Population Council
 
  Monitoring and Evaluation System
