  Egypt Interim Demographic and Health Survey 2003.
This survey is carried out under the auspices of the National Population Council and the Institute of Resource Development Macro Inc.. The primary objective of the interim survey was to collect data to provide accurate information on fertility levels and trends, family planning use, infant and child mortality, and maternal and child health indicators. The sample size for Interim 2003 was designed to cover around 13,000 households where women in their reproductive age (15-49) were interviewed in those households. A representative sample of 2,199 household and 2,053 ever-married women ages 15-49 from Menya were interviewed in the EIDHS which aims at providing an overall profile of the demographic and health situation in Menya governorate and the results were presented in a separate report.
 
  Egypt Household Health Service Utilization and Expenditure Survey 2002-2003.
The Health Care Utilization and Expenditure of Egyptian Household Survey is a community based survey consisting of nationally represented households. It is a cross-sectional study utilizing the quantitative approach. A multi-stage self weighted systematic random sample of around 10,000 households was drawn. The study collected information on household health expenditure to estimate the expenditure of Egyptian households on health (out of pocket), and to understand the pattern of this expenditure. The main goal of this survey was to provide information to evaluate alternative health financing strategies and other options for health care reform.
