Action Research for Egypt Population Project 1996-1997 1996-1997
  The main objective of this research was to develop a list of the principle factors that help in explaining reasons behind the non-use in Upper Egypt as well as motivators for having smaller families. The ultimate goal was to design projects that can help in increasing the demand of family planning and strengthen the norms towards small family sizes in households where wives are in their reproductive age. This study had been conducted during1997, using different approaches of qualitative method to obtain data. Forty FGDs, 110 in-depth Interviews, in addition to participantís observations (through a long stay in the community for two weeks). The study was implemented under the auspices of The World Bank.
